Part three of why I don’t want my kid to go to public school in America: New Jersey and California.
I never went to high school in either place, but I know plenty people who did. New Jersey is a GREAT place to go to school. A person like me could never afford to live in New Jersey. Seriously. It is so insanely out of my price range up there that I can’t even explain it. Order of magnitude more, for sure. This is even taking into account my massive family ties up there. I would need a lot more folks reading Feef to survive in NJ. Gewel and I would be so busy earning a living that Amelia would grow up without us. Defeats the purpose.
I think I could survive in Cali, especially in the San Diego area. I love it there, I know people there, the schools are probably alright there mostly, but the thing is that Cali if a Big City. Little things need more shelter than that to survive. Austin’s a little too big to be raising a kid, San Diego is orders of magnitude worse. It would be very difficult to protect our kid(s) in a city as big as San Diego.
Unfortunately everywhere else in Cali is miserable or expensive or both. I could not make enough of a living to survive in San Francisco. There is no point to LA, especially when SD is right there. Same to the inland parts. Northern Cali, when they legalize weed, is going to fall into a terrible depression that I don’t want to be part of, though it will be nice afterwards. Maybe then.
